The Harbor Pilot

0630 · Morning Watch · Approaching harbor · Pilot boarding

Every harbor has a pilot: the man who comes out in a small boat to bring the big ship in past the shoals. He knows the channel by heart. He climbs the ladder, takes the wheel for twenty minutes and is gone before anyone thanks him. Our pilot is a few questions long. Answer them and we will bring you in to the right berth.

Try the water first.
